Members of CUPE Local 3912 have voted in favour of the tentative agreement agreed to by the respective bargaining teams earlier this week. Classes/labs/tutorials will resume on their normal schedules Monday.

Negotiators representing the Dalhousie Board of Governors and CUPE Local 3912 have reached a tentative collective agreement. CUPE may choose to end its strike action at any time. We will provide more information in the event that occurs.

The withdrawal (W) date for all Fall Term courses has changed to November 25. Some students may begin hearing from their Faculties, programs and instructors over the Study Break about changes to course delivery.

The Dalhousie Board of Governors and CUPE will return to the bargaining table on Nov 2 and 3.

CUPE Local 3912 has responded to the Board’s proposal (on October 24) to refer the remaining collective bargaining issues to arbitration, indicating they will not agree to take part in arbitration at this time. The Board has now written to CUPE with proposed dates to return to the bargaining table early next week.

The Dalhousie Board of Governors is committed to exploring all options to reach an agreement with CUPE Local 3912. Today, the Board wrote to the Union proposing the parties agree to resolve negotiations through interest arbitration.
